Two tiny kittens, found squeaking for help in a backyard, have been given a second chance at life and now have someone to hold onto every day.
A homeowner, whose house was under renovation, heard desperate meows coming from the yard. Upon investigating, they discovered one kitten crying loudly, and soon noticed another kitten nearby, hiding on the edge of some bushes. Their mother never returned for them, so the kittens were taken to Nashville Cat Rescue, where they were placed in the care of a dedicated bottle feeder.

“They were filthy and covered in fleas and dirt. It took several baths to get them clean,” shared Becca and Nathan, foster volunteers with the rescue, in an interview with Love Meow.
Once the kittens, later named Squeak and Adele, were old enough to eat on their own, they were moved to Becca and Nathan’s home to continue their foster care. The fluffy duo, affectionately nicknamed the “snowballs,” immediately latched onto their foster parents, seeking warmth and comfort.
Both kittens quickly found joy in snuggling up on laps. One day, Becca walked into the foster room to find them fast asleep on Nathan’s lap, with him also napping peacefully. “They’re small for their age and love to comfort-nurse on blankets or our hands, likely because they didn’t have their mama to nurse from as babies,” Becca and Nathan explained. “But other than that, they’re healthy and love everyone they meet.”
The kittens crave affection and are never far from their foster parents or the resident cats. When they want attention, they vocalize with perfectly synchronized meows, seeking out their foster family for love and cuddles. “They both make squeaking noises,” Becca shared. “Squeak has blue eyes and adores Foster Mom, while Adele has a special bond with Foster Dad.”
Though playful and curious, Squeak and Adele are most known for their love of cuddling. Any available lap is a prime napping spot for the pair, who also enjoy scampering around the house, playing fetch, and bonding with their foster brother, Phil, a resident cat who has shared many snuggles with them.
“Squeak likes to stretch himself out over whatever blanket or lap he’s sitting on, while Adele prefers to curl up into a little ball,” their foster parents noted. Despite their individual personalities, the two kittens are inseparable and always play, explore, and rest together.
The snowballs have come a long way since their rescue from the backyard. Now, they have each other and plenty of warm laps to sit on, ensuring they will never feel alone again.
