Like an emergency, I’m not the friendliest when someone abruptly interrupts my nap without a good reason.
I might sit there, grumbling and reflecting on human nature. Those around me typically give me some space for at least ten minutes.

However, even at my grumpiest, I can’t match the tiger’s reaction in a recent Dublin Zoo video.

In the footage, a tiger strolls down a hill within its enclosure. Spotting a sleeping tigress, the tiger wakes her by swatting at her.
This proves to be a mistake. The tigress, initially disoriented, starts swiping at him while still on her back and continues to bat at him as she gets up. She then adopts an aggressive stance, showing her teeth.
The video’s humor escalates when the tiger tries to play it cool. He strolls to a nearby drinking pool, pretending to be interested in the water. His actions are a transparent attempt to deflect from the tigress’s anger.

His thoughts seem to be: “Oh, look, water. Maybe I should get a drink.” But the tigress’s growls continue, prompting him to retreat up the hill, probably to find a quieter spot.
A particularly funny moment in the video is when a little girl nearby expresses her desire to hear the tiger roar.
As the tiger approaches the tigress, the girl, watching from behind the glass, quickly runs away when the tigress reacts angrily.
Her swift departure hints at a future career in sprinting. The tiger and the girl learn a valuable lesson: be careful what you wish for.
It’s a shame such amusing events don’t happen during my zoo visits. Have you experienced anything like this during your trips? Share your stories in the comments!
