A kitten missing one paw is proving that nothing can slow her down as she charms everyone she meets.

Three kittens, all about five weeks old, urgently needed help after arriving at a shelter. Among them was a particularly small kitten missing a paw.

Caroline Grace, who founded Baby Kitten Rescue, stepped in to assist after hearing the shelter’s call for help. “We responded right away and agreed to take them,” she shared with Love Meow.

“Upon arrival, the kittens, named Rosemary, Lavender, and Basil, were severely dehydrated, malnourished, flea-ridden, and dealing with parasites.”

Rosie, alongside her siblings Lavender and Basil, was rescued, but she required special attention due to her condition as a tripod kitten.

Caroline and her team were particularly concerned about Rosie, who was noticeably frail and smaller in size.

“She was all skin and bones, her ribs and spine so prominent. At five weeks, she barely weighed as much as a typical two-week-old,” explained Caroline.

To help Rosie regain her strength, they provided immediate care, ensuring she was properly hydrated and on a feeding schedule.

“When I first held Rosie, I was struck by how tiny she was compared to her siblings, not to mention her lethargy and flea infestation,” shared Mia, Rosie’s foster mom, with Love Meow. “Yet, even at her weakest, she purred and sought affection.”

With the right environment, Rosie started gaining weight and strength. Soon, she was happily scampering around, making full use of her three paws to explore and play tirelessly.

According to Caroline, “We were amazed to see how seamlessly Rosie adapted to her missing limb. Mobility posed no challenge to her.”
