To her dismay, she found a severely undernourished dog, lying helplessly in profound distress. Naming the dog Hope, Sabine believed it symbolized the pup’s fight for survival. Although frail and exhausted, Hope still clung to life. Sabine immediately took her to a veterinarian, where they discovered that the four-year-old dog had endured immense suffering. Hope’s spine was misaligned, and she had a substantial hernia necessitating urgent surgery.
The examination uncovered a tragic backstory: Hope seemed to have been used for breeding and confined to a life within a cage before being discarded once deemed no longer useful. Following two weeks of intensive care and surgery at the veterinary clinic, Hope began her journey toward healing.
Joining foster care under the loving attention of Krista, a foundation member, Hope started to regain her trust in humans. Over the span of three months, her transformation was remarkable. Gone was the timid, frail pup, replaced by a spirited dog ready to embrace a new future.
In a heartwarming turn of events, four months after her rescue, Little Steps Matter announced that Hope had found her forever home. She was adopted by Metha, who instantly formed a bond with Hope. Together with her new dog sibling, Tofu, Hope now enjoys the joy of daily walks, snuggles, and the affection she had so long been denied.
