Raymond McNamara experienced an emotional moment when he was finally reunited with his 20-year-old cat, Lily, who is both deaf and blind. Lily had gone missing over two months earlier while they were on a trip in Florida.
Earlier this year, Raymond took his cherished Himalayan cat, Lily, on a cross-country journey. During their stop in South Florida, Lily wandered off, leaving Raymond devastated.

Determined to find his missing feline friend, he knocked on doors and sought help from animal control and the police, refusing to lose hope.
While his search efforts continued, Saving Sage Animal Rescue in Miami became aware of the situation and joined the search, organizing a team to help locate Lily. Despite their efforts, the search initially yielded no results, leaving Raymond heartbroken.
Two months later, a breakthrough came when Raymond received a Facebook message from a woman who had discovered a cat at a construction site, the very place where Lily went missing.
Kathy Bieniek from Saving Sage Animal Rescue recalled to ABC News, “We pieced it together… that was definitely his cat.”
Surviving on her own for two months through Florida’s weather, the elderly cat was immediately given medical care by the shelter staff who nursed her back to health. Lily remained in their care until Raymond arrived for their heartfelt reunion.
Overcome with emotion, Raymond pledged, “She’s never going to get away from me again,” as he fought back tears upon being reunited with Lily. The reunion prompted Lily to gently head-bump her beloved owner, reminding him of their bond.
“He was in tears and is never going to let her out of his sight again. She is his world,” shared Kathy, who witnessed the touching moment.
Now back in the comforting arms of her devoted human, Lily has finally returned home. For Raymond, having Lily back is a source of pure joy and relief. “He’s got her. He’s excited,” Kathy added.
