Animal cruelty remains a troubling issue, frequently affecting innocent animals and stirring emotional responses from observers. The recent case of an abandoned dog and her puppies in Texas highlights this ongoing problem.
In late April, a 5-year-old boxer mix named Dory, along with her nine young puppies, was left behind in the parking lot of a church in Abilene, Texas.
This unfortunate situation captured the attention of Paw Angel Animal Rescue, a local animal sanctuary dedicated to helping animals in need.

The rescue group sprang into action after a photo of the abandoned dogs circulated on Facebook. Paw Angel Animal Rescue urgently put out a call for foster homes, emphasizing that their facilities were at full capacity.
Two dedicated volunteers from the organization, moved by the image, immediately set out to save the animals.
Misty Boerger, one of the volunteers, recounted to ABC’s local affiliate KTXS12 how she was deeply affected by the photo, prompting immediate action.

She shared her disbelief at how someone could leave a mother dog with her very young puppies in such a state.
Another volunteer, Angel Urban, explained that Dory had multiple open sores when they found her. Unfortunately, one of her puppies, Peach, with a throat tumor, had to be euthanized due to her condition.
Despite this loss, Dory and her eight remaining puppies are now on the road to recovery and are ready for adoption.

The rescue group shared an uplifting update on their new arrangements, featuring a heartwarming picture of three puppies cuddled together in their spacious new kennel.
The new kennel, which measures 10 feet by 10 feet, provides the perfect shelter for the puppies, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and protected from the elements.
As they grow, they will eventually need more space, but for now, they are thriving under the care of Paw Angel Animal Rescue.
